The amide form of Vitamin $B_3$ (Niacin), it is a precursor to the coenzymes NAD+ and NADP+, vital for numerous metabolic processes, including DNA repair and cellular signaling. It is used to prevent and treat Pellagra (niacin deficiency). Unlike nicotinic acid (another form of Niacin), it causes less flushing or skin irritation.
